Here Is What Drives Us: Africa suffers from poverty, hunger and deprivation evidenced by heartbreaking stories:
An 11 year old girl gets raped on her way to defecate in the bush early in the morning, another 11 year old gets raped by a Pedophile who entices her with biscuits that cost less than 5 cents;
Millions of out of school children beg on the street with no parental care or supervision, underaged girls engaged in prostitution so they can feed, citizens sell their votes for less than one dollar to elect irresponsible politicians, Parents sell one of their children so they can feed the others;
Nearly 100 Million people living below the poverty line in just one country (Nigeria), widespread open defecation, malnutrition, crime and so on. These are real stories by the way.
If the 11-year-old had a toilet at home she would not have become a rape victim. While no self-respecting parent with a decent means of income will leave their children on the streets, the other 11 year old won’t need a 5 cent biscuit if her father could provide for her, neither would the parents of underaged prostitutes.
What if the parents of these vulnerable ones had an adequate means of income? What if they had jobs, or businesses that enabled them care adequately for the needs of their family members?
Well, they don’t. And that’s why we exist!
We rescue stranded projects. Where they do not exist, we create them, creating Jobs, reducing poverty stimulating economic development in the process.
